2009 was anything but typical from sea to shinning sea. From the swearing in of the first biracial to the Presidency of the United States to the Tea Party protesters movement, this country will never be the same. It has been said that change is good, in retrospect we’ll see.What we have seen thus far by the new President has been mediocre at best. The Obama brand “Hope and Change” is it tarnished forever?
Starting with Cap and Tax, Health Care reform, outrageous spending with rising national debt into the trillions, anti-terrorism failures, constitutional rights for enemy combatants, green jobs moving to China, unemployment at double digits, no focus to create jobs, back room deals in health care, no transparency as promised, Acorn scandals, a blatant disregard for the constitution, and the attempt to remove contextual heuristic structures of blue and white from the debate and replace it with a democratic (socialist) red reveals contemptible administrative actions. Is Obama trying to bankrupt the nation? What should be the foremost agenda by our government?
JOBS! Yet the forefront of the Obama agenda is Cap and Tax, Health Care reform and stimulus spending? At a time when unemployment is hitting double digits the White House has decided to focus the debate on energy - HR2454 the cap and trade bill that will decimate the heartland. Secondly, a health care reform bill that many economist validate will decimate the middle class. The country needs health care reform for sure but not government run health care. The conservative suggestions for health care reform were flatly disregarded by Obama, Reid and Pelosi. Yet, how many times has Obama stated in relation to health care bipartisanship: “Show me what you got”… “if you have a great idea great”... “don’t sit on the side lines and offer no real suggestions”.
The fact is the Republican’s plan for health care renewal is online for all to see. It’s just not what the President wants. However, no one even knows what the President or the Democrats have planned? Most Democrats don’t know either. Unless you’re one of special interest groups with a ticket for admittance to their smoke filled back-room meetings or one of three states to get special deals at the expense of the rest of the country-- don’t hold your breath!
The President is great at appealing to emotions. Mr. Obama is a great salesman, but what are we really getting for our $100,000.00 per citizen stimulus debt? A large negative for three generations who will have to pay interest to China. How has the electorate reacted? Due to negative polls (a drop of 28 to 30 %) many have prognosticated Obama would refocus after the State of The Union to address jobs, cut spending, kill the health care and energy bills. Take a softer approach to his agenda. Why? Many of Obama’s moderate voters and Independents have jumped ship.
Buyers remorse is rampant even in key Blue states like Massachusetts, the so called Kennedy seat is once again “The people’s seat” and Republican Scott Brown is the new Junior Senator. And let it be stated, Scott Brown ran on conservative issues in direct opposition to the Obama agenda and won by a landslide. The writing is on the wall! Supporters are falling away from the Obama campaign platform. Are they viewing the Obama premise as nothing more than a well crafted ruse of progressive elitist ideology? It appears so as vague and stupid candor about the mentally disabled, bibles and guns. With the President being so far to the left the partisan business as usual in Washington seems more evident than in years past. The irony, Obama ran the middle and wanted to make everything transparent? A ruse!
Obama’s administration has been everything but transparent. With statements like: “Everyone should see who is for or against the issues of the people... We need to expose the special interest groups... No more closed doors…. No more secret meetings” Obama’s figures of speech are percieved hypocritical. The President has out right failed in his promise to reveal Washington lobbyist. Special interest deals and lobbyist groups have run amuck in the Capitol and the people have had enough. The recent Massachusetts special Senatorial election shouted for the rest of the country the people are tired of the hypocrisies.
The public is finding out the facts. During his Presidential campaign Senator Obama stated eight times he wanted C-Span at all the health care and legislation meetings so America could witness the debate. C-Span has been denied access. However coupled with this denial both Congress Woman Pelosi and Senator Reid's denial of letting C-Span record congressional committee meetings, debates or private meetings with special interest groups are solidifying the moniker being placed on Obama as the Puppet Master. Obama - in full control and is fully responsible. With videos and sound bites revealing the evidence buyers remorse has emerged in great proportion.
Independents are repenting. Conservatives have become activists and their effort is growing rapidly in numbers. The conservatives and moderates are now roughly 78% of the voting block. Is the Obama agenda doomed? 2010 will be a change year. The new administration’s performance is dismal at best and the voters are flexing their voice. Obama, a smooth campaigner is just that, a speech giver. The popular one, the one who could rally a crowd with eloquence is revealed as a person of rhetorical fluff and empty promises. Honest critics from all spectrums of politics are realizing that what might look good or promising in the glowing light of the campaign trail might not have the right stuff; the real stuff to get things done. And that’s the real issue.
Obama gives a great speech but the abstract rhetoric is no substitute for real governance. Repugnant at best, seemingly cannibalistic efforts toward the Republic by progressive elitists, they have hit a wall called common sense and rational thinking. The “Cool” many refer to is starting to crack. With three Blue states going Red, Mr Obama’s party is heading for a very hard second year and a very tough mid term election. Yet, what really puts most common sense voters into a twist is that President Obama campaigned that if elected fundamental change was coming. However, did anyone outside of his core know his real intent? Mr. Obama’s agenda is causing many to shake their heads in disbelief.
A very prevalent rhetorical evil in politics, “tell the people what they want to hear” and blame its demise on the other guy. This appears to be Obama’s objective. Therefore, can the people expect the change that was promised? If one’s past decisions directs the path of one’s future; the percentage is highly negative. And what about the Washington’s attitude we heard so much about. Doing business as usual, held by so many of our elected officials; will Washington ever change? Can anyone say recall! Perhaps it’s time for all the states that don’t have RE-Calls to make Re-Call amendments? A recall provides a way for citizens to retain control over elected officials who are not representing the best interests. The people are tired of their elected officials side stepping the heart beat of the nation because they have an agenda at the expense of people. Perhaps, Term Limits will avail? A three term, 12 year limitation of office for both the House and the Senate would clear the dross. And this idea of paid for life needs to be reduced. After all, the Pre-amble states “for the people by the people” not for the government by the government! The Constitution and the Declaration of our Independence must be protected.
The Obama agenda. The Obama policies, that some question, are they even constitutional? One hot spot for the President is the attempted anti-terrorism reforms and failures. Should Constitutional rights and Miranda rights be given to enemy combatants? Many cry it’s just absurd! Yet, the country watched with gaping mouths as the “Christmas Day Bomber” Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was read Miranda rights and told by his lawyers to not say another word-- shutting down the bomber’s interrogation by the FBI and HLS.
The Obama administration and current far left portion of the Democratic party are defining us for the first time in history what the framers of the constitution spoke so ardently against. Can there really be an Un-Constitutional Government? Fujah’s article “Unconstitutional Government” by Dr Maryann Zihala reveals the intent of the Obama, Pelosi, Reid agenda. The public is realizing their fundamental disregard for any constitutional standards that do not support their progressive agenda. Is the Democratic party really hell bent on doing whatever they deem reasonable regardless of the fallout? It appears independents and conservatives believe so.
Elected officials who supported the Obama, Pelosi, Reid health care bill and the Cap and Tax debacles will soon be in the fight of their life to keep their seats in the 2010 mid term elections. The House as we see it today will change to what many hope will be a respectable and ethical balance. Conservatives are set to gain 20 seats minimum to possibly 40 seats respectively. The Senate is expected to return to conservative control by 10 seats. Then the question will be: will the conservatives become the party of transparency, fiscal responsibility, forward thinking energy policies, ethical over site of Sallie, Freddie and banking? If they are smart they will. But who ever said politicians were smart. One can think of many other descriptive nouns. What should be Obama’s foremost priority - JOBS After one year the Obama administration has finally decided to pivot toward JOBS.
Yet with green jobs being out sourced to China, one has to question the President. Green jobs should be one of the objectives. However - America has one of if not the largest natural gas supply in the world. What is Obama doing about this very clean fuel that can heat homes, fuel cars and trucks-- Not Much!
If smart, Conservatives will become the party of JOBS, ethics, restraint, balance and transparency. Bring the cameras in. To date both the Democratic and Republican brands are in the trash. Who’s left? Moderate and Conservative Independents-- the number is growing. But that is another discussion for a future story. Good people have come to their senses and realize the Obama premise, they don’t like it. One can only hope the damage done by far left Dems can be stopped, turned back, repealed.
Many ask the question how did we get here? The facts are simple. The loudest voice gets attention. Far left activist are only 21% of the voting block but these elitist hold positions of power. One area of power is the media. As Fujah stated “the press did not do their job...Toxic Media, Toxic Press-- Creates Toxic Decisions”. The press failed to vet Obama-- or did they? ABC, CBS and especially NBC news outlets and left leaning publications like the New York Times, Newsweek, Time, Vanity Fair, GQ and many others protected and deliberately supported Obama. Are they to blame for the insanity?
If so, they need to meet their demise for the simple reason that propaganda cannot be tolerated in the press. Some in the popular media did however try to tag Obama’s premise as income redistribution and rightly so. Largely defined as conservative right wingers, by the Obama press machine, Obama was able to rebut the conservative voice using fluff and candor. He refocused the debate to their favor with the help of the press and new / young voters infatuated with moderate Politically Correct directives. Enthralled 18 to 30 year olds liked Obama for his cool-appeal rather than looking for clear definitions of Obama’s core definitions?
Song writer Jim Wagy so passionately penned “Emergency” in response to the 2009 elections:
“What’s right is now wrong, and what’s wrong is now right
We’re all politically correct now, and if not there’s a fight
It’s getting harder and harder, to talk about sin
Man isn’t happy feeling any condemnation
We want to live as we do, and do as we please…”
The drama is a tragedy. Arrogance (the antagonist) revealing the beast within. The plan-- egregious and insidious redefining the country into a democratic socialist nation? Many independent, conservative news outlets and opinion based shows are sobering the national electorate. Opines, such as Kristal, Hannity, Beck, Morris, Stossel, Bill O’Reilly and the brilliant Charles Krauthammer are providing and questioning evidence of Obama’s hidden intent. Mapping Obama’s agenda through cabinet member associations and affiliations are proving detrimental to the current administration. If the facts are the truth - let the facts be known! The writing is on the wall. Conservatives and independent moderates will take back the House and Senate in 2010 with large numbers. Yet with of all these negatives, the Obama plan is to stay the course with a slight adjustment: JOBS, Stimulus spending, Health Care, Energy reform are still at the top of Obama’s agenda. After all, Gallop Polling stated Obama “is the most polarizing President ever.”
